From Day 1 to Day 30

Reminder! Take your before shots today especially if you have specific fitness goals you would like to reach within the next few months and this year.

One of the best ways to measure progress and see a difference is through photographs. I remember not believing I had changed at all until I saw progress photos that were about 30 days apart. When I saw the photos side by side I couldn’t believe the difference and that my body had actually changed.

When you are starting out you have to realize you are seeing your body every single day it can be difficult to really see the changes from day 1 to day 30 without photos. Your progress may be sabotaged if you are depending on the mirror and scale. As humans we can be our own worst critics when looking at the scale and base our changes on weight or a number or the mirror as a visual reference. Looking in the mirror can be helpful the first day because you are able to take an honest look at yourself and see what you would like to work on and improve, this sets the motivation to get to where you want to be. But when you are thinking about your looks everyday in the mirror that is just unhealthy.

Use the mirror for getting ready and making sure you look the best you can before you head out the door not to criticize yourself and your problem areas on a daily basis.

Without a visual comparison such as side by side photographs during the first 30 days (a critical time for beginners) this can also sabotage your progress because you may get discouraged and say to yourself I’ve been working my butt off and see no changes at that point you give up. Take Photos. You’ll thank yourself 30 days from now six months from now even next Jan 1.

Finally, you aren’t going to see any changes no matter how many photos you take if you are not C O N S I S T E N T with your meals, workouts, and peace of mind … bottom line PHOTOS and CONSISTENCY FOLKS.
